| Ten years of activity deserve a proper celebration and Flattley Pedals chooses to do so by updating one of its most representative models. Thus was born the Revolution 10 AE, an anniversary version of the brand’s 3-in-1 dynamic overdrive. New aesthetics, revised clipping section, but the basic philosophy remains the one that has made the Revolution the most popular pedal in the Flattley catalog.
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of its foundation, Flattley Pedals presents the new Revolution 10 AE, a special edition of its flagship overdrive. Based on the original Revolution, the pedal introduces a dedicated aesthetic and some changes to the circuit that further expand its sonic possibilities. From a sound point of view, the Revolution 10 AE maintains the philosophy that made the success of the original model (in the video at the bottom of the page). The circuit takes inspiration from the classic Tube Screamer family, but is developed with a more modern approach, ending up offering a dynamic response that is particularly sensitive to touch and a range of sounds that ranges from a slight breakup to overdrives much richer and more charged than those that characterize a “regular” TS. The main feature of the design is represented by the three-position selector dedicated to the different clipping modes. In the central position, the signal passes through an opamp-based stage, while the other two modes introduce different configurations of symmetrical and asymmetrical clipping through various types of diodes. For this celebratory edition, Flattley has also revised the latter modalities, further increasing the variety of timbres available. The aesthetic has been completely customized for the occasion, and so the Revolution 10 AE sports a Purple Candy finish, purple anodized aluminum knobs with laser engraving and there is no shortage of purple “ring” lighting system around the activation footswitch. The controls remain the most classic for an overdrive: Volume, Gain and Tone, while the power supply is exclusively via an external 9 Volt power supply. Like all models in the Platinum Range, the Revolution 10 AE is also handmade in the UK, with selected components; the new Flattley Revolution 10 AE is available with a guide price of £259 in the UK and $319/319 Euros on the international market. |
