Immy Cliff is a multi-instrumentalist, with a focus on bass guitar, whose playing bridges classical discipline and hard-hitting rock energy. She trained in harp, flute, recorder, and piano at the Junior Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, before earning a music
scholarship to the University of East Anglia, where she completed a Master’s degree in Chemistry.
At 12, Immy taught herself bass guitar, drawing early inspiration from Iron Maiden, Yes, and Rush. Her distinctive background has shaped a unique performance style, combining technical precision with powerful stage presence. Alongside bass, she creates striking harp
interpretations of heavy metal songs, sharing performance clips and covers with a rapidly growing online audience.
Immy taught herself guitar as a teenager, and has since received guitar tuition from Justin Hawkins and has joined The Darkness onstage during soundcheck on five occasions on both bass and guitar – experiences that refined her confidence, professionalism, and live
performance skills. She is currently the bassist for JOANovARC, an all-female hard rock band performing club shows and festivals across the UK.
