Poison Ivy (Octave Harmonic Fuzz)

£221.00

SKU: FGP-SR-PI Categories: , , ,

The “Poison Ivy” octave harmonic fuzz pedal is modelled on a 60’s/early 70’s style Super Fuzz/Uni Fuzz but with some modern adjustments to improve the sound qualities.  The poison ivy is based on germanium diodes to give that vintage era fuzz sound. The 2-position tone network switch offers a choice between the full signal and a scooped signal that is more gritty.

The expander control takes the fuzz sound from a wide fuzz sound to a completely over the top Velcro ripping tight fuzz sound, providing some great octave tones.  There is no holding back with this fuzz pedal, it’s awesome and it’s almost like having two completely different fuzz pedals in one box.

The blue halo light ring installed diffuses the light when playing live, avoiding being blinded by the standard LEDs just as you are about to go into that all important solo thus giving a larger area to see where the pedal is located easily on the pedal board on darkened stages. The addition of the large aluminium foot topper gives you more real estate for contact when switching the pedal on and off during quick changes when playing live.

All Flattley “Silver Range” pedals are hand processed in our Flattley paint shop. They are etch primed first to ensure that the primer bonds to the aluminium enclosure which also provides an anti-corrosive protection layer. Multiple coats of base coat primer applied, the silver base coat colour is then applied and topped off with several coats of lacquer. Once the lacquer is hardened, it is then hand polished to achieve the smooth deep lustre finish that is inherent in all Flattley Guitar and Bass effects pedals. The graphics designed in house by our graphics designer Phoebe Flattley are applied to “Silver Range” effects pedals by UV direct printing in our printing shop.

I use this pedal in my rig live and in the studio killer for single string squashed notes I use it as a filtered effect and I’ve used it all over the new The Rocket Dolls record!

An incredibly well built pedal with amazing tonal versatility.

Great fuzz with plenty of diversity! Lot of meat on its bones and can dial a tone you need whether your needs are heavy or not. Gave it a spin for half hour at Brighton Guitar Convention and was sold there and then! If you see FGP at a convention/show go say hi and try out the range (definitely wasn’t the only pedal I could’ve picked up)!

    • Paul Flattley

Thanks for the kind review Kelton and it was great to have you on our stand at the Brighton Guitar Show trying our pedals. We’re very happy that you like your Poison Ivy fuzz and hope it gives you many years of service. Regards Paul
