Plexstar (Plexi Drive)

(2 customer reviews)

The “Plexstar” overdrive pedal is a plexi style JTM 45 amp in a box. It comes installed with a boost switch which gives you a massive overdrive boost with a bass kick when you want it. The Plexstar gives you monster overdrive tones and transparent overdrive even when the boost switch is off utilising the JFET transistors. The Plexstar gives you overdriven tones where you can be in the same room without bursting your eardrums with the Plexstar fully cranked!!!!!

The blue halo light ring installed diffuses the light when playing live, avoiding being blinded by the standard LEDs just as you are about to go into that all important solo thus giving a larger area to see where the pedal is located easily on the pedal board on darkened stages. The addition of the large aluminium foot topper gives you more real estate for contact when switching the pedal on and off during quick changes when playing live.

All Flattley “Silver Range” pedals are hand processed in our Flattley paint shop. They are etch primed first to ensure that the primer bonds to the aluminium enclosure which also provides an anti-corrosive protection layer. Multiple coats of base coat primer applied, the silver base coat colour is then applied and topped off with several coats of lacquer. Once the lacquer is hardened, it is then hand polished to achieve the smooth deep lustre finish that is inherent in all Flattley Guitar and Bass effects pedals. The graphics designed in house by our graphics designer Phoebe Flattley are applied to “Silver Range” effects pedals by UV direct printing in our printing shop.

This little box is great. It packs two very different sounds that are great for adding versatility to your rig. My preferred side is the more transparent setting but that’s down to my style of playing. Flick the switch to the the boost setting and it’s like being kicked in the face. The power and volume created by this little box will blow the roof off of the building, but that is exactly its intent. You have to try this for yourself to truly appreciate what it’s capable of.

Thanks for the kind comments Josh, yes the toggle switch certainly adds the kick. Regards Team Flattley

This was the second Flattley pedal that I bought, and like the first it made it straight onto my board. The quality and versatility are incredible and it definitely does what it says on the tin and much more. The added boost is brilliant and forces the question, should two of these pedals be on the board for live situations. If anyone is looking for this style of pedal, I couldn’t recommend it enough. I have a feeling there will be a few more Flattley pedals on my board before I am finished. Excellent stuff.
